Ingredients
- 1 c All-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. Baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. Salt (1/8 tsp if using salted butter)
- 6 tbsp. Butter, softened at room temperature
- 1/4 c White granulated sugar
- 1/2 c Brown sugar, packed
- 1 Large egg
- 1/2 tsp. Vanila exract
- 1 c Semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Prepare baking sheet with silicon bake sheet, parchment paper, or oiled with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a medium mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla until smooth. Let rest 1 minute.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and gently mix with a spatula until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Taking a generous 1/4 cup of the dough at a time, roll in to a ball (should be roughly a 1.5" ball) and place 3" apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until they start to brown. When done, remove baking sheet from oven (turn it off) and let rest for 5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
