Ingredients
- 1/2 Red onion, minced
- 2 Garlic cloves, minced
- 28 oz Crushed tomatoes (1 can)
- 12 oz Tomato paste (2 cans)
- 13 oz Tomato sauce (almost 2 cans)
- 1/2 c Water
- 1 tsp. Parsley, dried (2 tsp if using fresh)
- 1 1/2 tsp. Basil, dried
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning blend
- 2 tbsp. Sugar, white granulated
- 1 tbsp. Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Black pepper, ground
Instructions
- In a large sauce pan, heat olive oil and cook onion at medium heat until softened and translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water.
- Season with sugar, basil, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and parsley. Stir to combine.
- Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 20-30 mins.
