Ingredients
- 1/4 c Butter
- 1/4 c Flour
- 1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. Onion powder
- 2 pinches Cayenne powder
- 1 c Milk, scant
- 2/3 c Beer, light ale or lager
- 2 pinches Salt
- 1 c Sharp cheddar, shredded
- 1/2 c Mozzarella, shredded
- 1/2 c Gruyere, shredded
- 2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Melt butter in a medium sauce pan over medium heat. Add flour and stir continuously to make a roux.
- Stir in onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne powder. Cook 1 minute.
- Stir in milk until consistent, then stir in beer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add cheeses. Stir until combined, melted and smooth. Stir in 2 pinches salt, to taste.
