Ingredients
- 1/2 c Butter (125g)
- 3/4 c Sugar (170g)
- 1 tsp. Vanilla extract (5ml)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 1/2 c All-purpose flour (190g)
- 1 tsp. Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1 tbsp. Sour cream or Natural Yogurt (optional)
- 1/2 c Milk (125ml)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large mixing bowl beat together the butter and sugar until light and pale, about 5 minutes.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, beating in between each addition.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture along with the sour cream and milk. Fold the batter together until just combined and there are no flour streaks
- Divide the cupcake batter between 12 cupcake liners and bake for 20 minutes or until the cupcakes spring back when pressed.
- Cool on a wire rack before icing.
