Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c Brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp. Unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp. Honey
  • 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon ground
  • 1/8 tsp. Nutmeg, ground
  • 1/8 tsp. Cloves, ground
  • Pinch salt (or skip if using salted butter)
  • 1/2 c Spiced rum
  • 1 1/3 c Boiling water

Instructions

  1. Using an electric mixer, beat the brown sugar, butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl until blended and smooth.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a 4-cup (or larger) measuring cup or pitcher and add the rum and then the boiling water.
  3. Stir until the butter mixture dissolves.
  4. Divide among 2 mugs.
