  • Prep Time: 5m
  • Cook Time: 5m
  • Total Time: 10m

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp. Cold water
  • 2 tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 1/4 c Water
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tbsp. Honey
  • 2 tbsp. Orange juice, freshly juiced (about 1/3 juice from a large naval orange
  • 1/2 tsp. Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. Orange zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix cornstarch and 2 tbsp cold water in a cup and dissolve.
  2. In a small sauce pan over medium-low heat, combine soy sauce, 1/4 cup water, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, and honey. At this point, you can also add the red pepper flakes if you'd like it spicier. The ginger plus tang from the orange brings a nice natural "spice" to the glaze.
  3. Add cornstarch-water mixture and orange juice to sauce and continue to reduce. Taste, and add more orange juice if desired.
  4. Heat until sauce reduces to desired thickness. If you over thicken it, just add some water.
  5. Add water to thin if you over thicken it.
