Pan Seared King Salmon

  • Prep Time: 5m
  • Cook Time: 10m
  • Total Time: 15m

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Fresh Wild King Salmon
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the salmon on a cutting board or plate and season both sides with salt. Be sure to sprinkle high above the meat, and use 2-3 pinches per side. Let rest.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  3. Heat an oven-safe frying pan on medium-high and add 1 tbsp of grapeseed or other high-smoke point oil. When the oil starts to shimmer (just before it starts to smoke), gently lay the salmon, skin side down, in the pan, touching one end first and laying down away from you (so the hot oil won't splash you).
  4. Sautee for 2 minutes 30 seconds then flip and sautee for another 1 minute.
  5. Bake in frying pan for 5-7 minutes, until it starts to flake. Remove from oven and let rest for 1-2 minutes before removing from pan and setting aside while you get ready to plate.
