Rye Old Fashioned


  • 2 oz Rye whiskey (60ml)
  • 1/2 oz Demerara syrup
  • 4 dashes Angostura orange bitters
  • 1 Orange peel slice


  1. Fill a mixing jar with large chunks of ice. Combine whiskey, simple syrup, and bitters.
  2. Stir to combine then transfer to low ball glass with one large square cube of ice.
  3. Using a fruit peeler, shave off a full-length shave of orange peel. Rub the orange peel around the rim of the glass then fold and drop in glass.
