Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. Butter
- 1/2 Red onion, minced
- 3 tbsp. Flour
- 1 tsp. Dried rosemary, ground
- 1/4 tsp. Dried thyme
- 3/4 c Vegetable broth
- 3/4 c Milk
- 1/2 tsp. Salt, to taste
Instructions
- In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the onion in the butter for 3-4 minutes, until tender.
- Add the rosemary and thyme, and cook for another minute.
- Add the flour and cook 5-6 minutes, stirring frequently until it turns medium brown.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the chicken broth. Stir until smooth.
- While stirring in a circular motion, drizzle in the milk and incorporate thoroughly.
- Continue to cook on low, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes until thickened. Salt to taste.
- Optional: Process in a blender for a creamier texture.
